Verizon Deploys Mobile Communications in Joplin, MO

As recovery efforts continue in Joplin, Missouri, in the aftermath of a devastating tornado Sunday, Verizon Wireless has set up a mobile communication store and charging station to help area residents contact family, friends and loved ones.

The mobile communication stores are equipped with fully functional devices, so residents without working cell phones can contact family, friends and loved ones free of charge from the company's pool of working handsets. Additionally, the store features a battery charging station that allows customers to charge their cell phones and smartphones.

The Verizon Wireless mobile communication store is operating in the gymnasium at Missouri Southern State University, 3950 E. Newman Rd., Joplin, MO 64801-1595. Additionally, customers can visit the Verizon Wireless Communications Store at 111 North Range Line Road in Joplin (at North Park Mall) to use cell phones, access the Internet and charge devices.
