Verizon Wireless Discontinues Unlimited Data Plans

There have been lots of rumors on it but now it is all officially confirmed that all the unlimited data plans will be discontinued by Verizon Wireless.

This fact was confirmed through the announcement of Chief Financial Officer of the company, named Fran Shammo at the Summit of the Reuters Global Technology. According to Reuters, all the heavy data customers will have to pay more for the services and this will follow the so-called discontinuation. In regard to Cellular carriers, they will also be moved from unlimited plans.
But it is not the only case when providers limited their unlimited plans. Last year, AT&T did almost the same and limited its services in favor of diverse tiers of information service. This very move was considered to be the only way to protect the network for overloading with traffic which is highly generated by users of iPhones.
Last fall, Verizon Wireless tried to introduce tired data plans, providing customers with 150GB of data for just $15 monthly. But at the same time it was offering its unlimited plan for $29.99 monthly. But, I think it is not just purpose of protecting the network from overloading, but it is an intention of the company to get more profit without losing it.
