For those of you who are new to my blog, I write out of the US so I am biased towards the country. I try and keep unbiased and publish posts that centre on other countries. Please feel free to comment as much as you would like. In fact, I would love to have some comments so that I know what you all are interested in. Right now, I just publish what I am interested in and hope that someone reads it. I would like to have some conversations with my readers about the news.
I have three blogs in the Randomness Blog Family, the flag-ship, Randomness (random-stuff-on-my-mind.blogspot.com), Tech Junky News (techjunkynews.blogspot.com), and Interesting Stuff (victoriasthoughtsoftheday.blogspot.com).
Randomness and Interesting Stuff have no real focus. They are about what ever is in the news each day. Tech Junky News is obviously focused on technology like smartphones, computers, etc.
Recently, due to a busy schedule, a lot of my post have just been copy-and-pasted from other websites. I will try and do better about writing my own posts come summer, but the best way to tell if it's copied from another news source is scrolling down to the bottom. If it is not my own, I always add a read more link that goes to where I found it.
I have some websites that I would like to plug (other than the above blogs). I go to most of these sites daily. Currently, I am not being paid or endorsed in any way by any of theses sites or anyone that works for these sites:
- Fail Blog-View Discretion is Advised-I go to failblog.org a lot to get some humor into my life
- WikiLeaks-WikiLeaks is very important. It is a way to keep companies and whole countries open and transparent. There are reasons for keeping things private, like that attack on Osama bin Laden's compound, but there are also a lot of things that need to be know by the public that aren't. WikiLeaks provides a dumping ground for whistleblowers. One site that works as of when I am writing this is www.wikileaks.ch
- Howstuffworks.com-This site makes education fun. They have daily polls and quizzes. They also have about a dozen podcasts that are updated at least weekly. My favorites are Stuff You Should Know (http://science.howstuffworks.com/stuff-you-should-know-podcast.htm) and TechStuff (http://electronics.howstuffworks.com/gadgets/other-gadgets/techstuff-podcast.htm).
- Blogs.howstuffworks.com -A sister site to howstuffworks.com. All of the Howstuffworks shows, plus some that don't have podcasts yet, have an official blog that can be found at this site.
- Thinkgeek.com-An ecommerce site that sells really geeky and nerdy stuff. I have spent too much money here. No regrets.
- Amazon.com
