Why Amazon.com Is Being A Bully

Whether you buy from them or not (personally, I make money from them), Amazon.com has changed the e-commerce market.  Last week, Amazon said that they were scrapping plans to build a data centre in South Carolina.  Why did they have the plans scrapped?
Two weeks ago now, Amazon told the South Carolina State Legislature that they wanted tax breaks, among other incentives, to build a data centre in the state.  The centre would bring about 200 permanent, full-time jobs to the state from China.  This is just one example of how Wall Street thinks that it  can do what it want and bully Main Street around.  We need to stand up to them and say 'no'.  Yes, we are still in the Great Recession and are looking at a possible double dip recession, so the loss of the potential jobs will be hurting the state, but Wall Street, and Cyber Street, need to learn that Main Street is in charge.

There is a very great spoken word album that covers everything about the American economy both micro and macro.  It is called "Stuff You Should Know's Super Stuffed Guide to the Economy".  It is basically a Complete Idiots guide to the economy.  All you need to listen to are a computer, an internet connect, access to iTunes (free download at http://www.apple.com/itunes/), and $3.99 + tax.  The album can be found at http://itunes.apple.com/us/album/stuff-you-should-know-super/id308953962?i=308954118&ign-mpt=uo%3D4
